Our service extends from grassroots community building in the United States to crucial medical and developmental aid worldwide

Anba Abraam Chapel

The first fruit of our organization in Buffalo, NY was funding Anba Abraam Chapel in the basement of St Mary and St Moses Coptic Church, Buffalo, NY. This Chapel is used for youth meeting, small group meetings, small early liturgies and for prayer meetings by the people.

St Mary Eritrean Church

Despite the fact that Buffalo has a large number of Eritrean families, they didn’t have a church to worship God in their own way. The Catholic Church was very generous to let them use their church building for prayers. They dedicated a big section in the basement for the Eritreans. Anba Abraam Charity funded renovating this section and changing it into an orthodox church with Iconstasis, saints icons, carpet flooring, Chairs, TVs to display all prayers, full kitchen and full cafeteria.

Help 4 All club

Also, the organization started Help 4 All club, which used all the youth at St Mary and St Moses Coptic Orthodox Church to serve a special program at nursing homes, assisted living homes and hospitals. That program included singing, playing music, preaching and connecting with the residents of these places to support them, inspire them, giving them hope and put a smile on their faces. Snacks and refreshments were provided during these programs.

The refugee students club

As Buffalo, NY is a big center for refugee from Ethiopia and Eritrea , the city receives a large number of refugees every year. When the students come to USA from the camps in Ethiopia and Eritrea, they are placed at school grades according to their age. These students don’t speak English at all and suddenly, they are at an American school which teaches American history, math, global,....... all in English. These students were totally lost and confused and they did very bad at school. Anba Abraam organization paid attention to these young people. we screened all refugees, classified them into classes by their age and started a special program for them. The program included teaching English language, tutoring all school subjects and Bible teachings. During this program we give the students a meal and a snack. We were using St Mary and St Moses church building for this program every Friday evening. But, After having St Mary Eritrean Church, we moved the program to their church.

The van

The board of Anba Abraam realized that many Christians can not go to church services because of transportation. Also, transportation of the refugee students to attend their special program every Friday was almost impossible. So, we bought a 12 passenger van. That was a great help to people to go to the church both at the Coptic Church and the Ethiopian church and also to drive the students to and from the education program.

Then, Anba Abraam organization started to help the poor and the sick outside Egypt. We support the poor in Bolivia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Zambia. ( see pictures under photo Gallery).

Ethiopia

In Ethiopia, in 2012, the mission bought a big cow and all the poor of that area were given meat, vegetables and fruits.

Kenya

In Kenya, we helped the Raha Kids ( a place where the church get all homeless kids and provide for them shelter, food, clothes, schooling for regular and christean teachings).

Zambia

In 2017 in Zambia, The organization provided 300 large plastic bags . Each bag contained meat, vegetables, fruits, flour, oil, butter, cookies and candies for the kids. We traveled to Chipata ( a small city 14 hours drive by bus ) and had spiritual services, house visitations and provided bags of food to poor families. Later on, the organization funded a local church in this village after name of st Mina and pope Kyrelos.

Medical Misssions

Bolivia

Dr Saleeb and a big team visited Bolivia 4 times to provide spiritual, charity and medical services. Dr Saleeb donated a laparoscope to the local hospital and a portable ultrasound to Pope Shenouda Clinic that serves the poor. Dr Saleeb taught laparoscopic surgeries to local physicians in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. During his 4 trips he did to Bolivia, He did many unique surgeries including pelvic floor dysfunction repair surgeries, sling surgeries, Vaginal and laparoscopic surgeries.

Egypt

Dr Saleeb served many medical mission trips to Egypt. The first one was in Nakada, Qena in upper Egypt. Then he served at St Tekla Hospital in Alexandria every year for the last 5 years. He helped many patients and did so many difficult surgeries. The organization supported St Tekla Hospital to establish the brand new emergency room and heart center.

Small Project

As we grew up in service, we realized that it’s not enough to give people food and clothes but we need to make them independent and rely on themselves on getting a regular income for the family so, we started the small projects.

The idea started in Upper Egypt. Each family chooses a small business that they can and like to do. The organization funds the project and give the expenses of that project to the head of the family as a loan to be paid back without interest over 5 years (to encourage them to work hard and make a profit). During this time, our servants continue to supervise these families and give the business and legal advice and take care of them spiritually too.
